We build capacity for communities, students, and future leaders to advocate for nature, climate, and equity on the Los Angeles River. FoLAR believes that all of LA’s youth deserve access to nature and to the LA River – that’s why our K-12 environmental education programs are at the heart of our mission and vision. Each year, our team of educators serve thousands of students in Los Angeles County through free curriculum, field trips with hands-on STEAM learning activities, a paid year-long fellowship program, and events featuring FoLAR’s mobile museum and education center, the River Rover.
