Station to Station - Bob Baker's Marionette Theater

In 2013 a train housing legendary artists of all kinds—musicians, writers, poets, chefs, dancers, and visual artists—travelled from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The train, which also functioned as a moving kinetic light sculpture, made nine stops for one-night-only site-specific ’happenings’ curated and documented by American artist Doug Aitken. Aitken's film Station to Station depicts these happenings in 62 one-minute films showcasing live music, film, and art from participants including Patti Smith, Suicide, Giorgio Moroder, Ed Ruscha, Gary Indiana, Jackson Browne, Mavis Staples, No Age, Beck, and more.
